PipeCentrifugal pump's flow components include: the suction chamber, impeller, and discharge chamber.
The impeller chamber is the core of the pump, as well as the core of the flow components. The pump increases the liquid's energy through the work done by the impeller.
Impellers are categorized into three types based on the direction of liquid flow:
(1)The liquid from the radial flow impeller (centrifugal impeller) exits in a direction perpendicular to the axis.
(2) The liquid from an inclined impeller (mixed-flow impeller) exits the impeller along a direction tilted from the axis.
(3) Axial flow impeller liquid flow is parallel to the axis.
Propellers are divided into two categories based on the intake method:
(1) Single-suction impeller (meaning the impeller draws liquid from one side).
(2) Double-suction impeller (i.e., the impeller draws liquid from both sides).
(3) Impellers are divided into three categories based on the cover plate form:
(Closed impeller.
(2) Open impeller.
(3) Semi-open impeller.
Closed impeller applications are widespread, and the single suction impeller and double suction impeller mentioned earlier both fall under this category.

When import pressure exceeds0.4 MPa, or when the system's working pressure exceeds 1.6 MPa (for 125mm diameter at 2-pole speed and below), 1.2 MPa (for 125mm diameter at 4-pole speed and 150-200mm diameter), or 1.0 MPa (for 250mm diameter and above), the overflow components of the pump must be made of spheroidal cast iron or cast steel, with the mechanical seal to be selected separately.
