Inspection Rules for Water Tanks

1. Products are divided into factory inspection and type inspection.

2. Factory Inspection.

Each product must pass factory inspection before it can be released, and a quality certificate of compliance should be attached.

Item of factory inspection is 4.2 to 4.5 of this standard.

Type Testing

Type testing is conducted under one of the following conditions:

a) During the trial production of new products and the transition from old products to new.

b) When there are significant changes in the product's structure, manufacturing process, or materials.

c) Normal production products shall be inspected at least once a year.

d) Upon resuming production after a shutdown of one year or more;

(e) Upon request by the national quality supervision authority.

What should be noted when processing and installing an expansion tank for a chilled water unit?

When manufacturing an expansion tank, it should be designed and selected based on the cooling capacity of the chiller, and the volume should not be arbitrarily altered nor the material specifications changed. This ensures the chiller operates normally and stably.

In order to allow the water within the system to freely expand and contract with temperature changes, valves are not permitted to be installed on the expansion pipes connecting the water tank to the main return pipe.

Three, when the expansion tank is installed in a non-heated room, it is necessary to add a recirculation pipe. Since the water in the open expansion tank does not participate in the system circulation, a recirculation pipe is connected to the return main pipe of the system to prevent the water in the tank from freezing.

The connection points of the expansion pipes are 2-3 meters apart, allowing them to form a small loop within the water tank using the pressure difference. This is a square stainless steel water tank, which helps maintain the water inside the tank from freezing. Note here: both the expansion tank and its connecting pipes must be insulated.
