By plastic molding process, divided into injection toys, blow molding toys, rotational molding toys, casting toys, inflatable toys, etc.
① Injection-molded toys. Made by heating raw materials to a liquid state in an injection molding machine and then injecting them into a mold for cooling and solidification. Examples include car bodies, electronic keyboard casings, etc.
② Blow-molded toys. The raw material is heated and extruded through an extruder to form a tubular semi-liquid, which is then placed into a split mold. After clamping, it is inflated to take shape and then cooled to set. Examples include dolls, two-color balls, etc.
③ Rotomolded Toys. The raw material is placed into a mold, sealed, and then secured on a stand. It is then placed into a rotomolding machine, rotated at a specific speed while being heated. Once the material has taken shape, it is removed and cooled to complete the process. These include dolls, animals, balls, and more.
④ Molded Toys. Similar to blow-molded toys, they have been largely phased out due to uneven product thickness and low efficiency.
⑤ Inflatable Toys. Cut into specific shapes from polyvinyl chloride film, printed with patterns, then bonded by an electronic heat-sealing machine with molds applying pressure and heat. After that, the inflation nozzle is attached, and it can be played with after inflation. Examples include swimming rings, water balls, and animals.
Plastic raw materials are mainly divided into thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics based on the molecular structure of synthetic resins: thermoplastic plastics refer to those that remain moldable after repeated heating; common materials include PE/PP/PVC/PS/ABS/PMMA/POM/PC/PA, etc. Thermosetting plastics mainly refer to plastics obtained from synthetic resins that harden upon heating, such as phenolic and melamine plastics, which are not commonly used.
Mainly divided by application scope, there are general plastics such as PE/PP/PVC/PS, and engineering plastics such as ABS/POM/PC/PA, which are commonly used. Additionally, there are some special plastics like high-temperature and high-humidity resistant and corrosion-resistant ones, as well as plastics modified for specific purposes.
