Two-screw extruder classification
According to the rotation direction of the twin screw, extruders can be categorized into two types: co-rotating and counter-rotating. Co-rotating extruders refer to the situation where both screws rotate in the same direction, while counter-rotating extruders refer to the case where the screws rotate in opposite directions.
According to whether the axis of the twin screw is parallel or intersecting, there are two types of extruders: those with parallel axes, known as twin screw extruders, and those with intersecting axes, known as conical twin screw extruders.
The twin-screw extruder comes in both mated and unmated varieties.
Similarities between parallel and conical twin-screw extruders: Both have a conveying mechanism that forcibly pushes plastic forward, excellent mixing, plasticizing, and dehydration capabilities, and similar adaptability to the molding process of materials and plastic products.
