Product Overview
Aerospace ultra-hard aluminum alloy, with high strength and excellent wear resistance. The 7A09 alloy belongs to the Al-Zn-Mg-Cu series of ultra-hard aluminum and has been used in aircraft manufacturing since the late 1940s. It remains widely employed in the aerospace industry as a super-high-strength deformed aluminum alloy. Notable features include good plasticity after solution heat treatment, exceptional strengthening effects from heat treatment, high strength below 150°C, and particularly good low-temperature strength. It has poor welding properties, a tendency for stress corrosion cracking, and requires packaging or other protective treatments for use. Double aging can enhance the alloy's resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Its plasticity is slightly lower than that of the 2A12 in both annealed and quenched states, slightly better than that of the 7A04. The sheet metal exhibits superior static fatigue, notch sensitivity, and stress corrosion properties compared to the 7A04.
Product Application
7A09 is primarily used for manufacturing aircraft structures and high-stress components requiring high strength and corrosion resistance, such as upper and lower wing surface panels, struts, etc. It exhibits good plasticity after solution heat treatment and excellent heat treatment strengthening. It maintains good strength below 150 degrees Celsius and particularly good low-temperature strength. It has poor welding properties and a tendency for stress corrosion cracking. It is also widely used in mold processing, machinery and equipment, fixtures, aerospace and aviation industries, blow molding (bottle) molds, ultrasonic welding molds, golf ball heads, shoe molds, paper-plastic molds, foam forming molds, paraffin molds, machinery and equipment, and for making high-end aluminum alloy bicycle frames.
