Tricycle centrifuge, also known as a tricycle centrifuge, gets its name due to the bottom support with three posts arranged in an equilateral triangular pattern. The tricycle centrifuge is a solid-liquid separation equipment, primarily used for separating solids from liquids or vice versa.
The General Administration of Safety Supervision issued the notice "The General Administration of Safety Supervision on Printing and Issuing the List of Outdated and Dangerous Technical Equipment to be Eliminated (First Batch of 2015)" (Safety Supervision General Technology [2015] 75) on July 10, 2015. It clearly states in the "Hazardous Chemicals Field and Fireworks Industry" that due to "open operation equipment prone to vibration, compression, and material splashing, with a lower safety factor," the use of three-leg centrifuges is prohibited. Instead, "pressure filter machines or fully automatic centrifuges" should be used.
