A needle valve is a fine-tuning valve with a needle-shaped plug, primarily used for adjusting air flow. Fine-tuning valves require the valve opening to gradually increase, allowing for a continuous and subtle adjustment from closed to fully open. The needle-shaped plug can achieve this function. The plug is typically made of hardened steel needles, while the valve seat is made of soft materials like tin or copper. The seal between the valve needle and seat is achieved through a tight fit of their conical surfaces. The valve needles come in two cone angles: 1:50 and 60 degrees, with the cone surfaces requiring fine grinding. The seal between the valve stem and seat is achieved with a bellows.
