Thoroughly clean the cavity components, removing any residues, ensuring all edges of the grooves are smooth.

The original packaging of the floating oil seal can only be opened before installation to remove the sealing component.

Check the position of the O-ring; it must not be distorted. Place half of the sealing part into the cavity entrance and press it evenly into the cavity. Use anhydrous ethanol to moisten the grooves and rubber rings for easier installation. Absolutely no lubricating oil or grease is allowed for assistance in installation.

Check that the outer surface and sealing face of the groove are parallel after installation; a significant deviation should not exceed 1MM. The O-ring should have no ridges or projections within the groove.

Preparation and Precautions Before Starting a Floating Oil Seal

a. Inspect mechanical seals, auxiliary equipment, and pipeline installations for completeness and compliance with technical requirements.

b. Perform a static pressure test before starting the mechanical seal to check for any leakage. If significant leakage is detected, investigate the cause and attempt to eliminate it. If this does not work, disassemble for inspection and re-install. Generally, the static pressure test uses a pressure of 2 to 3 kg/sq cm.

c. Rotate the pump by the impeller and check for smooth and even movement. If the rotation is difficult or the pump does not move, inspect whether the assembly dimensions are incorrectly installed.
