The Passive Protection System is composed of components such as steel wire rope nets, steel mesh panels, anchor bolts, I-beam columns, tensioning ropes, pressure relief rings, bases, and support ropes. The system is formed by the combination of steel columns and steel wire rope nets, creating a cohesive unit that provides surface protection for the protected area, thereby preventing the descent of collapsing rock and soil mass, and serving as a slope protection measure. The characteristics of the SNS Passive Protection System include: its flexibility and barrier strength are sufficient to dissipate and transmit the expected impact kinetic energy of falling rocks, and the design and use of pressure relief rings further enhance the system's shock capacity. Compared to rigid barriers and shotcrete retaining walls, this system alters the existing construction methods, reducing both the project timeline and funding.
