Pre-till and level the nursery plot, usually to a depth of 30-50cm. To enhance soil fertility, eliminate harmful pathogens and soil-borne pests, mix 5% phosmet granules or solution with base fertilizer and incorporate it into the soil. Typically, 0.25kg of the chemical can be mixed with every 1000kg of fertilizer. Alternatively, you can sprinkle powdered ferrous sulfate directly onto the soil, using about 150kg per hectare. Then, level the plot into beds for sowing. For autumn sowing, plant as soon as the seeds are harvested. Autumn sowing usually occurs in mid-to-late October.
