The plum tree is a deciduous small tree, with a grey-brown trunk, slender green branches without hairs, ovate or rounded-ovate leaves with fine teeth along the edges, flower buds located in the axils of long branches, with 1-2 flowers per node, fragrant, with 5 petals, ranging from water red to deep red, and also available in double-petaled varieties. The drupe is nearly spherical, with a seam, yellow or green, covered with soft hairs, sour in taste, with the flesh and kernel sticking together and not easy to separate. The fruit matures from June to July. Prefers a warm climate, with some cold resistance, highly sensitive to climatic changes during flowering, and enjoys higher air humidity. However, it dislikes heavy rain during flowering. Plums thrive in regions with an annual rainfall of 1000 mm or more.
