Detailed Description
The insulators are composed of ceramic components and upper and lower metal attachments bonded together with adhesive. Elastic washers are placed between the ceramic component end faces and the metal attachment bonding areas. The bonding sections of the ceramic components feature structures such as sanding, knurling, and grooving to ensure mechanical strength, prevent loosening, and twisting. The ceramic surfaces are uniformly coated with white glaze, while the metal attachments are painted with gray magnetic paint.
Insulator porcelain components have two main structures: a cavity partition structure (penetrable) and a solid (non-penetrable) structure. The combined胶装pillar insulators are generally of the solid non-penetrable structure. This latter structure enhances safety and reliability compared to the former, while reducing maintenance and testing efforts.
The insulator porcelain pieces come in two shapes: with multiple or fewer棱. The multi-棱 shape increases the surface distance, offering better electrical properties than the fewer-棱 shape. All products except for the gradually being phased out extruded-jacketed pole insulators are in the multi-棱 shape.
Internal rubber assembly structure, due to the metal accessories being glued into the porcelain piece holes, it correspondingly increases the insulation distance, enhancing electrical performance, while also reducing the space occupied during installation. However, as internal rubber assembly is unfavorable for improving mechanical strength, insulators with higher mechanical strength requirements should use combined assembly (i.e., the upper accessories use internal rubber assembly, and the lower accessories use external rubber assembly).
The disk-type suspended porcelain insulator for high-voltage overhead transmission and distribution lines is used for insulation and wire fixation. Generally, they are assembled into insulator strings for use on lines of various voltage levels.
Standard insulators are suitable for general areas; increasing the number of insulator shims can also enhance the anti-fouling performance.
Suspended porcelain insulators are composed of porcelain pieces, iron caps, and steel feet, bonded with a cement of not less than No. 525 silicate cement and quartz sand adhesive. The iron caps and steel feet have a thin coating of cushioning material on the surfaces in contact with the adhesive, with an elastic pad at the top of the steel foot. The porcelain pieces are generally glazed with white and brown glazes, with other glazes available upon request. The surfaces of the iron caps and steel feet are all hot-dip galvanized. The push-pull elastic locking pins with spherical connections come in W and R types, both made of tin bronze, brass, and austenitic stainless steel, offering good elasticity and corrosion resistance, and easy assembly and disassembly. The cylindrical and saddle-shaped open pins for slot connections, the former with a hot-dip galvanized surface, and the latter made of brass. The above elastic locking pins, cylindrical pins, and other zero-insulators are divided into spherical and slot types according to the method of connection.
Standard and dirt-resistant insulators of the same strength grade, with the same socket connection size, are interchangeable.
