Screw Actuated Valve Operator

1. Ensure the base layout plane is level at 180°; the contact area between the machine base and the base layout plane must exceed 90%; the screw shaft axis must be perpendicular to the level plane measured on the weir platform; it should be perpendicular to the weir plate lifting hole to avoid screw shaft tilt, which could cause localized stress and damage the machinery components.

2. Place the shutdown and startup machine at the installation position. Fit a limiting disk over the screw, and screw the screw from the bottom of the beam into the shutdown and startup machine. Once the screw appears from above the machine, fit the limiting disk onto it. The lower end of the screw is connected to the gate.

3. The installation of the foundation building for the opening and closing machine must be firm and safe. The concrete for the machine base and foundation components must be cast according to the drawings. Temporary supports for the opening and closing machine shall not be removed or altered until the concrete reaches the designed strength, and trial adjustments or trial operations are strictly prohibited.

4. Install the opening and closing machine so that it aligns with the centerline of the gate's lifting point. Ensure the centerline deviation is no more than ±3mm, and the elevation deviation is no more than ±5mm. Subsequently, pour the second-stage concrete or connect to the pre-buried steel plate.

5. Installation of electrical equipment for opening and closing machines complies with the specifications of the drawings and manuals, with all electrical equipment reliably grounded.

6. After each gate machine is installed, clean the machine, repair damaged protective paint, and lubricate with grease.

Valve Actuator Commissioning:

1. The switchgear ensures that the three-phase current imbalance does not exceed ±10% under no-load conditions, and measures the current values.

2. Adjustment of upper and lower limit positions: When the gate is fully closed, tighten the upper travel switch against the upper limit and secure it to the screw shaft. When the gate is fully open, tighten the lower limit disk against the lower travel switch and secure it to the screw shaft.

3. The main control unit of the opening and closing machine must be adjusted to ensure that the gate's up and down travel error does not exceed 1 cm when reaching the upper and lower limits.

4. After installation, it is essential to conduct a trial run. First, perform a no-load test, allowing the screw to complete two strokes, and listen for any abnormal sounds to check if the installation meets technical requirements. Second, conduct a load test under the rated load, completing two strokes and observing the operation of the screw and gate for any anomalies. Only after confirming there are no issues should the equipment be operated officially.

Operators must be familiar with the structure, performance, and operation of the opening and closing machines, as well as possess a certain level of mechanical knowledge to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

2. Prior to operation, inspect the opening and closing machinery for proper lubrication of all parts and for any loose bolts. When using the electric opening and closing, check if the power lines are properly connected and if the switches are functioning well.

3. While the electric operation is in progress, the operator must remain on-site and immediately stop the machine upon discovering any issues.

4. When repairing shut-off machines, it is mandatory to clear the load.

5. During use, lubricating oil must be added through the oil filling hole at all times. It's essential to maintain an adequate amount of oil. The screw should be cleaned of oil sludge regularly and coated with fresh oil to prevent rust.
