The Lifting Sluice, also known as the Lifting Sluice Gate, Lifting Valve, or Lifting Gate, is a structure composed of multiple individual sluice plates that are stacked horizontally into the gate channel to form a flat water-blocking structure. The Lifting Sluice has a simple structure, is lightweight, requires minimal lifting force, and is easy to transport. However, due to the water-sealing being achieved by the weight of the slabs, the overall integrity of the water-blocking structure is poor, and the water-sealing is less reliable depending on the water level, with a slightly higher leakage rate than steel gates. Therefore, the Lifting Sluice Gate is suitable for temporary water-blocking or maintenance purposes. The Lifting Sluice Gates are available in two types: the standard type and the type with a pre-tensioning device.
Sliding gate with pre-tensioning device, equipped with a guide rail on the gate channel, each gate leaf slides smoothly down the rail, preventing misalignment of the stacked beams. Additionally, on both sides of the upstream of the sliding gate, a pre-tensioning device is installed to ensure the stacked beams are tightly sealed against the gate channel, enhancing water-sealing performance. Practice has proven that the sliding gate with pre-tensioning device significantly reduces the leakage compared to the ordinary type of stacked beam valve.
