Shixia Longan, also known as Shixia, Shiyi, Cuirou, and Shi Yuan, is a variety of Longan. It is divided into three strains: Yellow Shell Shixia, Green Shell Shixia, and Gongfen Shell Shixia. This variety is the main crop in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, originally from Pingzhou, Nanhai, Guangdong. It is one of the fine fresh food varieties with a long cultivation history. In the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong, this variety ripens in early to mid-August, making it an early ripening variety.

The peel is yellow-brown, the flesh is milky white or pale yellow, and it is opaque; the flesh is about 0.5 cm thick, easy to separate from the pit, with crisp texture, richly sweet with a honey-like taste, of extremely high quality, and with less juice. The seeds are reddish-brown, smaller, with distinct longitudinal grooves on the outer seed coat.
