Taiwan No.1 Mango
Taiwan No.1 is renowned for its excellent color, aroma, and flavor, offering rich nutrition. Each 100 grams of fruit contains 56.4 to 137.5 milligrams of vitamin C, with some varieties reaching up to 189 milligrams; sugar content ranges from 14 to 16%; the seeds contain 5.6% protein, 16.1% fat, and 69.3% carbohydrates. Mango consumption is beneficial for the stomach and quenches thirst. Ripe Taiwan No.1 can act as a mild purifier, while the seeds can be used as insecticides and astringents. The juicy and delicious mango flesh combines the flavors of peaches, apricots, plums, and apples, providing refreshment and thirst-quenching relief in the heat of summer. Due to the challenges of preserving and transporting mangoes, they are often processed into preserved fruits, jams, fruit wines, dried fruits, jellies, and more. Mango preserved fruits like mango candy, honey mango, and licorice mango are well-known for their delicious taste. The Dai people in Xishuangbanna prefer to make mango gel, which is made by boiling, de-seeding, and filtering the mangoes, resulting in a semi-transparent amber gel that is crisp and delightful to eat.
