Description

Pure Water Equipment GE Suez MK-3 mini EDI Module Repair

One,EDI MaintenanceService:

Kebo Environmental Protection (Guangdong) Co., Ltd.Long-term professionals in ultra-pure water treatment technology research, engineering installation, and after-sales service, offering diagnostic and repair services for EDI issues to a wide range of clients and engineering companies. Our company boasts years of experience in EDI usage and after-sales service. We possess EDI cleaning and regeneration equipment, resins, anion and cation membrane sheets, anode and cathode plates, and other accessories. We can restore EDI water quality to its original state for issues caused by EDI joint breaks, internal overheating and burns, contamination in the pure water chamber, scaling in the concentrate chamber, and back leakage, among others. For EDI units that have reached their service life, after replacing the resin membrane sheets and other relevant materials internally, they can continue to be used for another 3 years without the need to purchase new EDI membrane blocks, significantly reducing users' expenses.

The current main EDI module models we serve are as follows:

American GE E-CELL MK-2ST, MK-2MINI, MK-2E, MK-3, MK-3MINI EDI module systems
United States IoTnPURE LXM30, LXM24, LXM18, LXM10, VNX50-2 CDI Module System
U.S. Electropure XL-100, XL-200, XL-300, XL-400, XL-500, and XL-500-L modular systems

II. Causes of EDI Damage:

EDI serves as a critical component in pure/distilled water systems, and any instability or unavailability will inevitably shorten the lifespan and lead to the failure of polishing mixed bed resins, severely impacting production.

The main causes of EDI module failure include the following points:

1. The EDI module operates continuously under high current and low flow conditions, leading to accumulated heat that cannot be dissipated. This results in the heating and deformation of the membrane near the two poles of the EDI, an increase in the concentration water pressure difference, and a decrease in both water quality and quantity to varying degrees.

2. The EDI module has been long neglected in cleaning and maintenance. Calcium and magnesium scaling has formed on the EDI membranes and channels, increasing the water pressure differential, resulting in decreased water quality output, rising voltage, and inability to regulate current, ultimately rendering it unusable.

3. EDI module has not been cleaned and maintained for a long time, or has been idle without protection for an extended period. This leads to the growth of organic matter in the EDI membrane and channels, resulting in increased differential pressure of the incoming and outgoing water, a decline in water quality, rising voltage, and inability to regulate current, ultimately rendering it unusable.

4. Using improper cleaning agents directly leads to damage and breakage of EDI resin, increased differential pressure of in/out water, resulting in a complete drop in both water quality and quantity produced.
5. When manually operating the EDI system, powering it on under a water shortage directly leads to the carbonization of the membranes and resins due to overheating. Cleaning is ineffective, rendering the system unusable.

6. Lack of a security filter before EDI, directly leading to foreign matter blocking the EDI channel, increased differential pressure of water in and out, resulting in a significant drop in water production volume and ineffective cleaning. Additionally, poor pretreatment (softener, sulfur dioxide addition system, RO, etc.), control system failure or malfunction (safety interlock device, issues with low flow protection), and inappropriate system design (discharge of RO initial product water) are also involved.

7. Exceeding rated current/voltage or human error operation.

8. Inadequate system maintenance and management, failure to comply with the EDI usage conditions.

Our company offers diagnosis, repair, and regeneration services for damaged EDI and CEDI membrane blocks of various types, restoring them to their original performance. This service allows you to extend the lifespan of your existing EDI modules (CEDI membrane stacks) without the need to purchase new ones.

Section 3:EDI MaintenanceMethod:

Develop an initial maintenance plan based on user data and descriptions.
2. Upon arrival at the factory, the membrane modules are first inspected and cleaned on the machine. If necessary, disassembly and inspection are conducted, and damaged internal components are replaced, including plates, anion/cation membrane sheets, resin, separator plates, connector wires, sealing rings, and other damaged materials.
3. After maintenance, retest and release for production after 48-hour test passes.
4. Assist clients in optimizing current equipment processes and addressing issues during operation, based on maintenance conditions.
5. Cleaning agents and maintenance plans available.
If all hardware of the CEDI module (EDI membrane stack) is in good condition, the following replacements will be made for the EDI module:

1. New ion exchange membrane.
2. New O-rings

3. New ion exchange resins
4. Standard factory quality inspection

5. There is protective fluid inside the module before shipment; users must regenerate it before use.

6. Module performance that meets customer requirements or is customized to their needs.

IV. Maintenance Notice:
1. Customers should provide as much detail as possible about the pure water equipment's process flow, the EDI operation report, and its operational status, which is beneficial for determining the cause of damage.
2. The EDI module must be in a non-disassembled condition prior to repair, with all hardware intact.
3. Offer complete interfaces and accessories; packaging must be sturdy during transportation to prevent secondary damage.
4. Factory inspection and disassembly are complimentary; only charge for material replacement.
5. Post-repair, strictly adhere to the application and maintenance requirements of the membrane module.
6. One-year limited warranty on EDI repairs by our company, water quality over 16M, and water pressure meeting the factory standard of new membrane blocks.
7. We offer spare membrane blocks during the repair period, without affecting the customer's production.

FiveEffect

Secondary RO water is used as the feedwater source; the quality of the water produced by EDI can reach above 16M. The quality, flow, and pressure of the water after repair all meet the performance specifications of the original factory's new products. The water and concentrate produced reach the level of new membrane modules.GE/INOPURECompany's factory products are the same.
