Plastic drainage boards are manufactured by pressing polyethylene (HDPE) plastic base plates into conical ridges or reinforced ribs (or hollow cylindrical porous shapes). Through continuous innovation and research, the raw materials have been significantly improved and transformed. Now, they are produced using polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which has greatly enhanced compressive strength and overall flatness. The widths range from 1 to 3 meters, and the lengths are 4 to 10 meters or more.
The top surface of the conical boss is bonded with a layer of filtration geotextile to prevent soil particles from passing through, thereby ensuring smooth drainage in the channels. Traditional drainage methods use bricks and tiles as a filtration layer, along with a large amount of cobblestone or crushed stone as a water filtration layer, draining water to designated locations. However, using drainage boards instead of cobblestone filtration layers for drainage saves time and effort, conserves energy, reduces investment, and also decreases the load on the structure.
A good drainage system plays a crucial role in the construction schedule, the normal use, and the lifespan of structures. The drainage board, along with porous drainage pipes, forms an effective drainage and water dispersal system. The cylindrical hollow drainage boards, combined with geotextiles, also create a drainage system, thereby forming a system with functions of water infiltration, storage, and drainage.
