Method of connection between manholes and pipelines in comprehensive urban road utility projects:
Pipe connections to brick manholes are made using the intermediate layer method, where a layer of high-density polyethylene adhesive and coarse sand is pre-applied to the outer surface at the junction between the pipe and the well wall. This layer is then set into the well wall with cement mortar. The process of creating the intermediate layer: first, clean the pipe surface with cotton yarn, then apply a uniform layer of high-density polyethylene adhesive, followed by sprinkling a layer of dry coarse sand over it. Allow to cure for 10-20 minutes to form a rough intermediate layer. The length of the intermediate layer is determined by the length of the pipe set into the well, typically 0.24 cm.
(2) The contact area between the pipe and the wall masonry should be filled with 1:2 cement mortar. The thickness of the cement mortar should be greater than the pipe material thickness by 1 to 2 cm.
