There are many styles of computer desks, and after careful comparison, I find that the number of drawers and shelves cannot solely determine practicality. The computer desk I chose has a very simple structure and is also priced low. The top features one drawer and a keyboard tray (both are the same width and can be interchanged), while the bottom has only two shelves arranged as follows: the left half of the desk holds the monitor, and the empty right half can temporarily hold documents, computer reference books, and can also serve as a desk in daily use. The small drawer contains manuals, startup disks, antivirus disks, and commonly used CDs, ready for use at any time. The two lower shelves have speakers placed at the left and right corners, which do not take up desk space. The advantage of this style is that it accommodates both horizontal and vertical computer cases, offers ample legroom, can accommodate two people sitting side by side to discuss skills or play games; and the keyboard tray can be flexibly placed on either the left or right side, making it very suitable for home use. If you prefer a "one-end-heavy" design, that's fine too, but when purchasing, be sure to leave the left side of the desk for the person sitting and the right side for the mouse pad.
