The specifications for straight thread rebar couplings are φ12, φ14, φ16, φ18, φ20, φ22, φ25, φ28, φ32, φ36, φ40. Common specifications are φ16-φ32 straight thread couplings, Grade 4 steel couplings, and upsetting couplings, which are differentiated by steel stampings on the outer diameter and length. The internal threads are right-hand threads.
