Suction steam ejector internal working fluid pressure and velocity change curves
Water under pressure from the injection pump enters the nozzle through the water chamber. The nozzle converts the pressure energy of the water into kinetic energy, causing the water jet to exit the nozzle at high speed, creating a high vacuum inside the room. This vacuum draws the vapor-gas mixture from the condenser, which then enters the diffuser. As the water velocity slows down in the diffuser, the pressure gradually increases and is discharged through the diffuser at a pressure slightly above atmospheric. A check valve is installed at the inlet of the air intake chamber to prevent the working water from being吸入 into the condenser in case of a pump failure.
