Silica bricks are acidic refractory materials with excellent resistance to acidic slag erosion. They have a high load softening temperature of up to 1640-1690°C, and maintain volume stability and no deformation when used at high temperatures for extended periods. They are primarily used in the arch roofs of glass melting furnaces, carbonization and combustion chambers of coke ovens, heat storage and slag chambers of steelmaking open hearths, regenerative furnaces, and firing furnaces for ceramics, among other furnace arches and load-bearing sections. They are also employed in high-temperature load-bearing parts of hot blast stoves and acidic open hearth furnace roofs.
