Highway guardrail mesh, also known as traffic barrier, highway guardrail panel, expressway barrier, road separator, road mesh, is essentially just a name change, with no difference in the product itself. It is one of the most common types in the guardrail mesh series, made by weaving and welding with domestic low-carbon steel wire and aluminum-magnesium alloy wire, featuring flexible assembly and sturdy durability. It can be used to construct permanent guardrail walls or as temporary isolation mesh. Different post fixation methods can be used during installation to achieve various configurations. Highway guardrail mesh is widely used on numerous expressways in China and has yielded excellent results.
Standard Specifications: Welded with high-strength, low-carbon steel wire. (Customized orders available upon customer request.)
Rectangular Holes: 50×100, 75×150, 50×200, 60×150 are commonly available.
Thick Round Tube: Frame: Welded rectangular section tubes with 20×30 or 20×40mm dimensions; 0.8/1.0/1.2/1.5mm thick square tubes
Woven and Features: Made of low-carbon steel wire, the grid structure is concise, easy to transport, and installation is not restricted by terrain undulations. Particularly adaptable to mountainous, sloping, and winding areas. The highway fence mesh is sturdy and durable with moderate to low prices, suitable for large-scale applications.
Road guardrails can be divided into two types based on their manufacturing features. One is the electric-welded mesh guardrail, and the other is the woven wire mesh guardrail. Both types of guardrails have extensive applications in protection. The electric-welded mesh guardrail is made by welding wire, cold galvanized wire, or hot galvanized wire using an electric-welded mesh machine, followed by bending, spraying paint, or PVC processing. It features corrosion resistance, aesthetics, and effective protection. The woven wire mesh guardrail is made by weaving various metal wires, including PVC wire and cold/hot galvanized wire, using a weaving machine. It boasts strong impact resistance, aesthetics, corrosion resistance, and good protective properties.
Highway guardrails are aesthetically pleasing, durable, non-deforming, and easy to install, making them an ideal metal railing product. They can be used to create gender-specific fence walls or as temporary isolation fences simply by adopting different methods of post fixation. They feature corrosion resistance, aging resistance, sun resistance, and weather resistance. Corrosion protection can be achieved through electroplating, hot-dipping, powder coating, or immersion coating methods.
Highway Guardrail Mesh
(1) Median Guardrail - A barrier fence placed in the center of the road, primarily used to separate the upstream and downstream traffic flows. It prevents vehicles from crossing into the wrong lane and stops non-motorized vehicles and pedestrians from随意 crossing or diagonally crossing the road, ensuring good traffic order and preventing accidents. This guardrail is commonly made of concrete, metal, or a combination of both in a pile or railing style.
(2) Dividing Barrier for Roadways - A barrier mesh installed on one or both sides of a road, separating motorized and non-motorized lanes. Primarily used to isolate bicycles from motor vehicles. It ensures each lane is used independently, without interference, and vehicles flow in order. These barriers are commonly made of concrete or metal materials, with a height of approximately 600mm, in a "pillar" style.
(3) Pedestrian Guardrails - Highway guardrail mesh installed on the outer side of the pedestrian sidewalk at intersections or between the pedestrian and vehicle lanes. Primarily used to prevent pedestrians from arbitrarily crossing diagonally or horizontally across the intersection or vehicle lane, and secondarily to prevent vehicles from losing control while evading obstacles and crashing into the pedestrian sidewalk. It serves to maintain good traffic order and ensure pedestrian safety.
Highway Guardrail Mesh Applications: Primarily used for park/zoo fencing, campus/area perimeter, traffic isolation, and temporary barrier zones.
The main specifications of the highway guardrail mesh are as follows: mesh size 2.3m x 3m, with a 30cm 30° bend on top.
Grid Sizes: 75mm x 150mm, 50mm x 100mm, 80mm x 160mm
Edge Specifications: 2030x1mm square tube
Surface Treatment: Green electrostatic powder coating.
The specifications of highway guardrails are varied. Designs are tailored to different terrains, and quotations are made based on these designs before production.
