Glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) water tanks are available in two types: assembled FRP tanks and SMC modular tanks. Known for their lightweight, non-corrosive, leak-proof nature, good water quality, wide application range, long service life, excellent insulation properties, attractive appearance, easy installation, and simple cleaning and maintenance, they are extensively used in hotels, restaurants, schools, hospitals, industrial and mining enterprises, public institutions, residential buildings, and office buildings. They are ideal for storing public drinking water, fire-fighting water, and industrial water. Water tanks are an indispensable part of public water supply systems in industrial and mining enterprises and residential buildings. Currently, in China, concrete and steel plate tanks are predominantly used; however, the leakage and scaling of concrete tanks, and the corrosion of steel plate tanks, significantly affect their use. According to on-site inspections by the Beijing Environmental Protection Bureau, 85% of China's water tank supply systems currently fail to meet water quality standards due to bacterial and algae contamination and corrosion. Since the 1980s, assembled FRP tanks have been widely adopted to address these issues. FRP tanks offer advantages such as zero leakage, no deformation, no pollution, long service life, easy assembly, attractive appearance, and can be customized to meet different tonnage requirements based on customer needs.
