A flap gate is a one-way valve installed at the outlet of drainage pipes along rivers. At the end of the drainage pipeline, when the river level is higher than the outlet and the pressure exceeds that inside the pipe, the flap gate panel automatically closes to prevent river water from reversing into the drainage pipeline. Flap gates come in various types, including cast iron gates, integrated folding gates, square side gates, energy-saving side gates, steel side gates, steel round gates, square gates, and single-side steel gates. These gates are suitable for water, river water, seawater, and various mediums such as domestic and industrial wastewater. Compared to traditional cast iron gates, flap gates offer several advantages: Firstly, flap gates are more energy-efficient. For instance, traditional cast iron gates require manual force application by workers to open and close, whereas flap gates do not, thus saving on labor and materials. Secondly, flap gates have a longer lifespan due to their simpler construction compared to traditional cast iron gates and easier maintenance, resulting in a longer service life. Thirdly, flap gates are more convenient to use compared to traditional cast iron gates, as many functions of traditional cast iron gates require manual operation, whereas flap gates do not.
Steel flap gates include vertical shaft steel flap gates, standard flap gates, floating box flap gates, reservoir drainage flap gates, etc.
Application: Available for customer-specific requirements, featuring flanged pipe connections, wall connections, and pump station piping. Suitable for use at the bottom of large, medium, and small reservoirs, operated manually with a hand-operated opening and closing machine. Square or rectangular outlets, with a simple structure and reliable operation, requiring no manual labor. Can be connected with flanges or fixed with pre-buried components.
Cast iron butterfly valves are designed for circular and square outlets with unidirectional water flow. They feature a tight structure and reliable operation, requiring no manual operation. The opening and closing force is derived from the water pressure source. The valve opens when the water pressure inside the cast iron butterfly valve exceeds the external pressure, and closes otherwise.
Door knocker installation
1) Door installation can be connected to flanges, pre-buried, or permanently inserted.
2) In the use of the weighted shutter, if the hydraulic force in the forward direction is insufficient to open the door leaf, a weighted device with varying weights can be set according to the installation location requirements.
3) During operation, the float gate's flap can be adjusted for optimal opening by altering the flap's density through adding or releasing water into the seal cavity.
4) When installing multiple swing gates, if they need to be installed separately due to lifting conditions, it is important to mark them properly. Each gate's gate seat and gate leaf connection is an odd match and cannot be interchanged.
5) The installation axis angle "a" of the wall penetration pipe should be greater than or equal to zero degrees.
6) It is normal for there to be a gap of about 3mm between the door seat and door leaf after installation. When the door leaf withstands a certain reverse pressure, the gap will decrease and eventually disappear.
