The process of mechanical processing

The production process of machinery and equipment encompasses all the procedures involved in transforming raw materials (or semi-finished goods) into finished products. For the manufacturing of machinery and equipment, this primarily includes the transportation and storage of raw materials, preparatory work for production, the creation of blanks, the production and heat treatment of parts, assembly and debugging of the product, as well as painting and packaging. The specifics of the production process are quite extensive. Modern enterprises organize and guide the production process using the principles and methods of systems engineering, viewing the production process as a production system with inputs and outputs.

In the production process, any change to the shape, size, position, and characteristics of manufacturing targets to transform them into finished or semi-finished products is referred to as a processing technology process. It is a major part of the production process. The processing technology process can be further divided into casting, forging, stamping, welding, machining, assembly, and other processes. Generally, the processing technology process in mechanical manufacturing refers to the sum of the mechanical processing technology of parts and the assembly technology of machinery and equipment, while other processes are termed auxiliary tool processes, such as transportation, storage, power supply, and equipment maintenance. The processing technology process is composed of one or more sequentially arranged operations, with each operation consisting of multiple steps.

Process is the basic unit that constitutes the mechanical processing process. The term "process" refers to a single (or a group of) workers, continuously performing a portion of the processing process on the same workpiece (or simultaneously on several workpieces) on a machine (or at a specific work location). The main characteristic of a process is that it does not alter the production goals, equipment, or the operator. The specific content of the process is continuously completed, and the planning of the processing route is the overall layout of the processing process. The main task is to select various surface processing methods, define the sequence of surface processing, and determine the number of processes in the entire processing route. The planning of the processing route must follow certain principles.
