Product Details

The bentonite waterproof mat is made by uniformly blending graded sodium bentonite particles with corresponding additives. Through special processes and equipment, the bentonite particles are fixed between two geotextiles using a tufted needle method, creating the bentonite waterproof mat. This prevents the particles from flowing in one direction, forming a uniform, high-density gel-like waterproof layer within the mat when it encounters water, effectively preventing water leakage.

Geotextile waterproofing mats can be categorized by production process into: needle-punched sodium bentonite waterproofing mats, needle-punched and coated sodium bentonite waterproofing mats, and adhesive sodium bentonite waterproofing mats. The needle-punched and coated sodium bentonite waterproofing mat is a non-woven geotextile made of needle-punched sodium bentonite waterproofing mats with a layer of high-density polyethylene geotextile film bonded to its outer surface. The adhesive sodium bentonite waterproofing mat is a sodium bentonite mat compressed into a high-density polyethylene board using an adhesive.

Application Method for Bentonite Waterproof Mat

1. Bentonite waterproofing geotextile materials are relatively heavy, and it is advisable to use a loader with lifting equipment for handling and laying the geotextile.

2. The connection of the bentonite waterproof geotextile material is done by overlapping.

3. When laying geosynthetic clay liners on slopes greater than 10%, the number of overlaps along the slope length should be minimized. The clay liner on the slope must extend more than 1500mm beyond the toe of the slope. D. We will lay the geosynthetic clay liners strictly according to the design drawings submitted to the engineer supervisor, unless the owner or supervisor requires otherwise.

4. Any equipment used for laying the bentonite waterproofing geotextile must not drive over the already installed geosynthetic materials. The outdoor air temperature during the installation of the bentonite waterproofing geotextile should not be below 0℃ or above 40℃.

5. All exposed edges of the bentonite waterproofing geotextile must be immediately secured with sandbags or other heavy objects to prevent them from being blown away or pulled out of the surrounding anchoring groove. The bentonite waterproofing geotextile should not be laid out during windy weather conditions to avoid being blown up.

6. The installation of the bentonite waterproof geotextile must ensure direct contact with the underlying foundation, excluding any wrinkles. Any wrinkles, folds, or bulges may cause similar issues in other geosynthetic materials in the soil layer. To avoid wrinkles, folds, and bulges, we will follow the technical specifications to re-lay, cut, and repair the bentonite waterproof geotextile to eliminate these problems.

7. Equipment for applying bentonite waterproof geotextile must be approved by the supervising engineer before use. It is not permitted to use unprotected razors or "quick knives." I. Construction equipment that may damage the bentonite mat should not be directly applied to the bentonite mat. The feasible laying method is to push the bulldozer backward, spreading the bentonite mat at the front of the dozer. If the bulldozer leaves tracks on the subgrade soil, the tracks should be restored before the laying work continues.

8. Minimize dragging the bentonite mat over the subgrade to prevent damage to the contact surface between the bentonite mat and the ground. If necessary, lay a temporary geotextile on the ground to reduce damage caused by friction during the laying process.

9. The laying and overlapping of the bentonite mats should be parallel to the direction of the slope's inclination. If the slope exceeds 4:1,
