Polypropylene coarse fiber, also known as plastic steel fiber or steel mimic fiber, is produced from polypropylene and polyethylene as the main raw materials through a special production process. It features a rough surface, clear contours, good dispersibility, and strong adhesion to cement matrices. This product combines the functions of steel fibers with the advantages of synthetic fibers, primarily used to replace welded metal meshes and steel fibers in concrete panel structures.
Polypropylene coarse fiber fills the gap between steel fiber and polypropylene fiber, serving as an iron product with properties that lie between the two—a single fiber resembling sheared steel fiber. The fiber surface is rough and uneven, with a diameter of approximately 0.8mm. It is a new type of reinforcing and toughening material. When the fiber content is high, it significantly enhances the early cracking resistance of concrete. It can replace steel fiber or wire mesh, improving the toughness of concrete and its ability to withstand temperature stresses or explosive cracking.
