    Buckling beams are typically constructed from upper and lower chords, verticals, and diagonals,焊接 together. The upper and lower chords feature male and female joints with dowel pins connecting the holes. The chords of the buckling beam are composed of two No. 10 channel steels. On the lower chord, multiple steel plates with circular holes are often welded, and bolts are fitted within the upper and lower chords to reinforce the chords and double truss connections. Four bolt holes for connecting support frames are located internally on the upper chord, with the two central holes designed for double-row or multi-row truss connections, while the two end holes are used for inter-truss connections. When used as beams or columns, multi-row buckling beams require support frames to reinforce the joints between the upper and lower sections.

    On the bottom chord, there are four cross-beam pads equipped with tenons above, which are used to secure the position of the cross-beam on the plane. At the end of the bottom chord, there are two elliptical holes on the flange of the channel steel, designed for connecting wind-resistant rods. The vertical bars of the Bailey trusses are made of 8# I-beams, and a square hole is cut on the side near the bottom chord for the cross-beam clamp to secure the cross-beam. The material of the Bailey trusses is 16Mn steel, and each truss weighs 270kg.

    Inspect bridge deck for any damage, defects, or deformation; replacement is required when necessary.

    2. Inspect the various rivets, bolts, beam clamps, and wind-resistant tie rods of the Bailey plank for proper assembly, signs of damage, and any looseness to ensure stable passage.

    Check for cracks, deformation, or unevenness on the bridge deck, and replace as necessary.

    4. Measure the mid-span deflection of the bridge to determine if it is increasing; the rate of deflection increase should be directly proportional to the wear of the pins and pin holes.

    5. Conduct periodic inspections for the uneven settlement of the Bailey bridge foundation and make timely adjustments if any are found.

    6. Apply grease around the pins to prevent rainwater from entering the gaps in the pin holes. All exposed threads of bolts should also be coated with grease to prevent rusting. Bailey decks are widely used in traffic engineering. They feature simple structure, convenient transportation, high load capacity, good interchangeability, and strong adaptability.

    7. During maintenance, engineers should meticulously inspect all components of the steel bridge for any signs of paint chipping, rust, or deformation. For rusted areas, workers must strictly clean away dust, grease, rust spots, and other debris before applying paint, ensuring it is applied evenly and the surface is smooth. Any components found to be deformed must be replaced to ensure the continued stable use of the steel bridge.
