(1). Processes involving toxic, irritant, and flammable materials should be located in a separate building or designated areas within the factory, equipped with personal protective equipment and firefighting facilities.
(2) The workshop should have channels for transporting logs, sawn timber, and waste materials, equipped with facilities to eliminate through drafts such as corridors, vestibules, door curtains, and drapes, as well as fire prevention measures like automatic fire doors, fire and smoke barriers, and water curtains to prevent the spread of fires.
When it is necessary to safely reach a work station above the equipment within the workshop, a walkway with guardrails and stairs should be installed. The workshop floor and walkway passages should be equipped with anti-slip surfaces.
(4). There should be no equipment or obstacles on commonly used pedestrian crossings. Their width should be no less than 1 meter.
(5) Conveyor belts below ground level must be covered with a cover or a grating shield that reaches the ground. The surface of the metal plate should be anti-slip. The gaps in the grating shield should not exceed 30mm.
(6) Sawdust and waste storage bins should be placed outside the factory building.
When noise levels exceed national standards, noise reduction measures should be implemented in building and layout.
(1) A high-ceiling factory with a height of 6 meters should have an acoustic ceiling (slag wool acoustic panels) installed. For long and tall factories, if the width is less than the height, acoustic panels should also be mounted on the side walls.
When the factory height exceeds 6 meters, install an acoustic suspended ceiling above the woodworking machine area.
If the noise level of woodworking machinery in the factory is very high and remote operation is permitted, operators can work in an acoustic isolation room.
(4) Properly arrange equipment based on the varying noise intensity of woodworking machines can also achieve the goal of reducing noise levels. Noisy equipment such as planers, circular saws, and band saws should be arranged separately from other equipment.
