It possesses both the hydration and expansion properties of sodium bentonite when immersed in water and the characteristics of organic bentonite. When exposed to water or solvents like ethanol, it forms a colloid or undergoes substantial swelling, enhancing the viscosity of the paint. It also forms a solventized film on the surface of the refractory base material or a three-dimensional network structure to support and prevent the settling of the refractory base material.
