Nylon plates offer high mechanical strength and toughness, with excellent tensile and compressive properties. Their tensile strength exceeds that of metals, and their compressive strength is comparable, though not as rigid. The tensile strength is nearly equal to the yield strength and more than double that of ABS. They have strong absorption capabilities against impacts and stress vibrations, with impact strength significantly higher than that of most plastics and superior to acetal resins. They feature a smooth surface, low friction coefficient, and self-lubricating properties when used as moving mechanical components, resulting in low noise and the ability to operate without lubricants in low-friction applications. If lubrication is necessary to reduce friction or aid in heat dissipation, water-oil, greases, and other lubricants are suitable options. Consequently, they have a long service life as transmission components.
