High-pressure hose

High-pressure hose assemblies are typically composed of a liquid-resistant synthetic rubber inner layer, a middle layer, and layers I to VI of steel wire braiding for reinforcement, topped with a weather-resistant synthetic rubber outer layer. They are mainly used in mine hydraulic supports, oilfield exploitation, and are suitable for engineering construction, lifting and transportation, metallurgical forging, mining equipment, ships, injection molding machinery, agricultural machinery, various machine tools, and the hydraulic systems of various industrial departments. These systems are designed for conveying liquids with specific pressure and temperature, such as petroleum-based liquids (e.g., mineral oil, soluble oil, hydraulic oil, fuel oil, lubricating oil), water-based liquids (e.g., emulsions, oil-water emulsions, water), gases, and other liquid power transmission applications.

Many factors can affect the performance of rubber hose assemblies. Only by selecting the correct rubber hose and fittings based on the operating conditions can the reliability and cost-effectiveness of using the hoses be ensured. These factors include: the inner diameter of the hose should be appropriate; a too small diameter will increase the flow velocity of the medium inside the pipeline, causing the system to heat up, decrease efficiency, and also generate excessive pressure drops, impacting the overall performance of the system. Additionally, when the hose is fixed with clamps or runs through steel plates or other spacer materials, attention should also be given to the outer diameter size of the hose.

The dynamic pressure of a general rubber hose refers to the high pressure it is allowed to withstand during continuous operation. According to the safety factor of hydraulic hoses as specified by relevant international standards, the normal working pressure is typically one-fourth of the rubber hose's low burst pressure value.

Impact pressure and fatigue life; the selection of hoses is determined by the high pressure values of the hydraulic system design. Since the pressure values in hydraulic systems are typically dynamic, shock pressures may occur, with peak values significantly higher than the system's high pressure rating. However, most systems are equipped with relief valves, so shock pressures do not severely affect the fatigue life of the hoses. For hydraulic systems experiencing frequent shock pressures, it is recommended to choose hoses specifically designed for resistance to pulsating shock.

Users should operate the hose within the temperature range permitted by the hose quality specifications. If the operating environment temperature exceeds this range, it will affect the lifespan of the hose and greatly reduce its pressure-bearing capacity. For systems with operating environment temperatures that are either too high or too low for extended periods, it is recommended to use a hose sleeve.
