Construction Process:
1. Basic Treatment for Aging Wall Surfaces
Primarily refers to the removal of existing wall decoration. Typically includes scraping off latex paint and putty layers, removing wooden trim, and dismantling other decorative items. If the wall has only been decorated for one to two years, the water-resistant putty on the wall may not need to be completely removed. After sanding and brushing the wall with steel bristles, it can be repainted with latex paint.
2. Basic Steps for Renovating Old Walls
Step 1: Wall Preparation
Before renovating old walls, the first step is to treat the wall base. Severely effloresced areas must be completely removed and then coated with white cement. For walls previously painted and overly smooth, sanding is required after removal to remove loosely adhered layers, facilitating better adhesion of new paint to the wall.
Step 2: Apply Primer
The purpose of wall primer is to seal the base material, resist alkalinity and moisture, protect the topcoat, and enhance the texture and coverage of the topcoat. For renovation of old houses, applying wall primer is essential. If the topcoat is applied directly, over time, the wall may develop blisters and mildew, and prolonged sun exposure can also cause discoloration.
Three Steps: Large-Scale Repair
Wall repairs with pre-painted surfaces can be tricky, prone to color discrepancies, and the material's usage time and quality are uncertain, making it difficult to guarantee ideal results. Therefore, it's best to repair the entire wall or opt for large-scale repairs to minimize color variations.
Four Steps: Color Difference Prevention
Please mix and apply the paint according to the instructions on the paint bucket, and estimate the amount carefully. Prepare a sufficient quantity at once to ensure consistent wall color and avoid discrepancies in repainted areas.
