The spray angle refers to the cone angle formed by the liquid film after the slurry is ejected from the nozzle in a rotating motion. The primary factors affecting the spray angle are various structural parameters of the nozzle, such as the nozzle hole radius, the rotating chamber radius, and the slurry inlet radius.

In a wet flue gas desulfurization system, the spray angle of desulfurization nozzles directed downward is typically 90°, while those directed upward are set at 120°. For nozzles near the wall of the absorption tower, to prevent the corrosion-resistant material on the wall from being eroded and damaged, the spray angle of the upward-directed desulfurization nozzles is also set at 90°.
