Ductile Iron Pipe Proper Care and Maintenance

Maintenance and care of ductile iron pipes should begin right from the selection stage. Before the project commences, we should conduct a visual inspection of the required components, such as pipe sections, O-rings, elbows, etc., to prevent the use of defective parts.

The second focus of maintenance is the acceptance of working hours. We should pay close attention to the gasket rings and pipes (drain pipes) that affect the long-term stable operation, ensuring that there is no debris in the sockets. The gaskets are firmly seated with a rubber mallet, without any warping or twisting, and evenly fitted into the grooves.

During the maintenance and care of ductile iron pipes, as the moving pipe axis line is deeply buried underground, caution is required when encountering an angle of inclination. Do not force excavation if resistance is too great to prevent the rubber ring from being distorted.

Ductile iron pipes require preheating with hot water during winter maintenance to reduce hardness and facilitate quick installation.

Additionally, if the ductile iron pipes used in the project strictly meet national quality standards, we should pay attention to the dual AC/DC usage of gaskets, welds, and so on.
