What Are Possible Quality Issues with PE Protective Film and Their Solutions?

    2025-05-22

Question 1: The PE protective film does not adhere securely to the product it is intended to protect, leading to detachment during transportation and use. The cause of this issue is the opposite of the previous one, with the most likely reason being that the pressure-sensitive adhesive used during the production of the protective film does not have sufficient viscosity. Another possibility is that the pressure applied by the stamping machine used by the user during the application process is not enough, or that the surface of the profile has not been cleaned properly, containing dust or paint, which affects the adhesive's bonding effectiveness. If this problem occurs, it is crucial to address the cause directly. This can involve replacing the adhesive, increasing the pressure applied during the film application, or ensuring that the profile surface is effectively cleaned during the process to prevent such issues from arising.

Question Two: After a period of use, the protective film performs well in the middle but shows winging at both ends. The primary reason for this phenomenon is that during the adhesive process between the protective film and the material being protected, the film experiences excessive stretching. After application, in high-temperature environments, there is an unnecessary shrinkage. This issue is more common in products from southern customers. Therefore, during the production process of PE protective film, attention should be given to the impact of environmental temperature differences on product use, and unnecessary surface stretching should be avoided during the adhesive process.

Q: The most frequently reported issue is the delamination problem with protective film products, particularly evident in profile protective films. After the installation and construction of the profile is complete, when the user peels the protective film off the profile surface, the adhesive of the film does not come off with it but remains on the profile product. This is the last thing users want to see, as it is quite麻烦 and requires a professional to scrape the adhesive off, which is very time-consuming. There are multiple possibilities for this issue, but a major one is that the pressure-sensitive adhesive used in the protective film product does not comply with specifications, or is too sticky, causing the PE protective film product to have an external tension greater than internal stress during剥离, thereby leaving residues on the profile. If users encounter this problem, they can use a clean rag dipped in a little alcohol to repeatedly wipe the sticky residue until it is completely removed. However, it is important not to apply too much force during the wiping, as this might affect the luster of the profile product.

Question 4: Difficulty in peeling off protective film products; when peeling off after the installation of profile products, the protective film cannot be effectively removed. There are two possible reasons: one is that the adhesive used in the protective film product is not a specialized adhesive for protective films. If so, the protective film would stick very well during application, but it would be extremely difficult to peel off, which is a common issue with some illegal protective film manufacturers. Another possibility is that the material used for the protective film's release tape is too soft, unable to withstand the tension during peeling, leading to breakage, a problem that causes great frustration for users.

Question 5: Although PE protective film products can be effectively peeled off, the protective film's logo often remains on the surface of the profile. This issue is commonly found in lower-grade protective film products. It is due to a chemical reaction that occurs when the protective film combines with the protected profile, especially in environments with sunlight and moisture.
