Plastic drainage boards are made by pressing a plastic base plate made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) into conical protrusions or reinforced ribs (or hollow cylindrical porous shapes). Through continuous innovation and research, the material has seen significant improvements and transformations, now produced with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as the raw material. This results in a substantial increase in compressive strength and overall flatness. The width ranges from 1 to 3 meters, and the length is 4 to 10 meters or more.
The top surface of the conical riser is bonded with a layer of filtration geotextile to prevent soil particles from passing through, thus ensuring smooth water drainage through the holes and avoiding blockages in the drainage channels. Traditional drainage methods involve using bricks, tiles, and blocks as a filter layer, employing a large amount of cobblestones or gravel as the filter, and draining water to designated locations. Replacing the cobblestone filter layer with a drainage board saves time and effort, conserves energy, reduces investment costs, and also lessens the load on the structure.
A well-designed drainage system plays a crucial role in the construction timeline, as well as the normal use and lifespan of structures. The drainage board, along with porous infiltration pipes, forms an effective drainage system. The cylindrical hollow drainage boards, in conjunction with geotextiles, also create a drainage system, thereby forming a system with functions for infiltrating, storing, and draining water.
