Many artificial lakes, waterways, swimming pools, and garden景观water features, most suffer from leakage issues. The loss of landscape water leads to unattractive post-construction landscaping, unimproved water quality treatment, and affects surrounding buildings, posing a challenge for all property owners and developers.
HDPE liner custom-made for artificial lakes features excellent mechanical properties, resistance to cracking and leakage caused by foundation settlement, high waterproofing coefficient, easy construction, easy quality inspection during construction, and low cost of construction. It boasts good puncture resistance, ideal for landscaping and flower planting. The artificial lake structures are complex and varied, typically featuring winding canals, projecting pier abutments, islands of diverse shapes, irregular rubble retaining walls, and various landscape riverbanks. Landscape gardens may use rigid waterproofing for seepage prevention, which could lead to cracking and seepage due to uneven ground settlement, failing to achieve optimal seepage prevention and being costly and time-consuming. "Wide-as" HDPE waterproofing membrane boasts excellent physical properties, with elongation rates exceeding 700%, effectively resisting cracking and seepage caused by uneven settlement.
Before laying, level and compact the foundation of the artificial lake's watercourse, ensuring that the radius at corners and drop-offs is not less than 50cm. There should be no sharp debris within a vertical depth of 25mm on the foundation surface: such as roots, tiles, stones, concrete particles, rebar ends, metal, or other fragments capable of piercing the HDPE waterproof membrane. When backfilling the foundation, do so in successive batches, with each layer of backfill not exceeding 30cm in thickness, and use mechanical equipment to water and compact layer by layer. The foundation surface should be free of large puddles or silt that could affect laying and welding. If the groundwater level is high, drainage for groundwater vapor is necessary.
2. Anchor trench excavation (for HDPE liner edge fixation): The anchor trench specifications are 50cm x 50cm x 50cm. The angle of the anchor trench should be curved or slightly angled to allow the HDPE liner to smoothly adhere to the trench wall, avoiding excessive bending or hanging.
3. Irregular river streams can be laid perpendicular to the axis to avoid creases and bulges. After measuring the site for a large artificial lake, select the best laying plan according to the specifications of the waterproof membrane.
4. After laying, welding should be immediately followed. For difficult-to-weld areas such as pipe joints,阴阳angles, and corners, use a hot air gun and extrusion welding machine for the welding process.
5. Landscape engineering includes wooden pile foundations or concrete bridges in artificial lakes. Edging strips can be treated with hot air welders and extrusion welders, and water inlets and outlets can be sealed with flanges.
