Mixed Flow Pump Features

Mixed-flow pumps are highly efficient with a broad high-efficiency operating range, allowing for economical use even when the pump's head or flow rate varies significantly. The power change of mixed-flow pumps from low to high flow rates is minimal, enabling them to start at closed or full-open flow points, which is beneficial for power matching. These pumps offer good suction capabilities, allowing for higher installation water levels in general small and medium-sized pumps, making operation and maintenance convenient; for large pumps, they can reduce excavation depth and pump station investment, while eliminating the risk of cavitation during operation. Structurally, volute-type mixed-flow pumps share similar characteristics with centrifugal pumps. Large adjustable-blade volute and guide vane mixed-flow pumps are known for their stable operation, high economic efficiency, simple operation, and wide application range, although their structures are complex, comparable to large adjustable-blade axial-flow pumps. Large mixed-flow pumps with leading vanes also have unique advantages, such as safety and reliability, and low operating costs within a certain specific speed range, with a slightly simpler structure than adjustable-blade designs. Particularly in large pump stations where head variations are not significant, using vertical volute fixed-blade mixed-flow pumps provides a range of benefits, including simple structure, high efficiency, easy operation and maintenance, and low investment costs.
