How to Choose Plastic Storage Tank Accessories and What Are the Standards

Plastic storage tank accessories are primarily configured based on the specific application requirements of the customer. How should one select plastic storage tank accessories, and what are the standards? Generally, the available joints for plastic storage tanks include PP joints, PVC joints, ABS joints, PP flanges, PVC flanges, and PE flanges.

1. Flanges: The material of flanges is softer than steel. When connecting with metal flanges, ensure a soft connection to prevent the expansion and cracking of the PE flange on the plastic storage tank, which could lead to leakage.

2. Connectors: Connectors are made from resins such as PP, PVC, ABS, or nylon. During installation, do not over-tighten to avoid cracking.

3. Gaskets: The pipe connections on plastic storage tanks should use acid-resistant gaskets and be sealed properly. It is generally recommended to replace the gaskets every 1-2 years. Ensure that the gaskets between flange joints fit snugly; a one-sided slanting attachment can easily lead to leakage.

4. Reinforcement Sleeves: Under normal circumstances, the temperature inside a plastic storage tank is at room temperature. If the liquid to be stored in the plastic tank exceeds 50 degrees Celsius, a reinforcement sleeve should be installed to prevent the tank from softening and deforming. The sleeve should be tight enough to stay in place but not so tight as to fall off. Additionally, if the weight of the contents is greater than 1:1.2 or the volume exceeds 15 cubic meters, it is recommended to use a reinforcement sleeve to limit the expansion of the tank.

5. Ladders and Fences: When heavier equipment like mixers needs to be installed on plastic storage tanks, or when personnel must work on the tank top but the surface cannot bear their weight, ladders and fences should be considered to ensure safe operations.
