Safety protection facilities in an automated vertical warehouse

    2024-12-23

As automationStacked WarehouseThe advancement and application of technology have led to an increasing number of standards and regulations, playing a crucial role in enhancing the overall safety level of the industry. Standards such as JB/T9018-2011 "Design Specification for Automated Stereoscopic Warehouse," JB/T11269-2011 "Safety Specification for In-line Stacking Cranes," and GB/T32828-2016 "Functional Safety Specification for Automated Storage and Logistics Systems" outline fundamental safety requirements for automated stereoscopic warehouse systems. Safety measures, including protective barriers and safety gates, are essential components of automated systems as stipulated by various safety regulations, and are clearly required in all relevant specifications.

All safety regulations prioritize the protection of operators' personal safety, such as preventing accidental high-altitude falls of goods in automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) from injuring staff or preventing accidents caused by staff inadvertently entering equipment work areas. According to GB 16655-1996 "Basic Safety Requirements for Integrated Manufacturing Systems of Industrial Automation," the safety protection measures for AS/RS mainly involve protective measures at the interface between logistics equipment and manual operation. The boundary of the working area for automated storage and logistics equipment should be equipped with isolation fences, which are divided into two types. One type is the side of the shelves, generally using a protective back net to prevent goods from falling, with the appropriate mesh size chosen based on the specifications of the storage locations. The other type is a safety barrier at the end of the shelf channel to prevent personnel from entering, typically 1200mm in height, and combined with a sliding or hinged protective device door.Stacker CraneConveyor belts and other machinery operating areas must be equipped with isolation fences. Only maintenance personnel are allowed within the fence for machine adjustments, process corrections, or repairs, in accordance with operational regulations.

Surveillance and maintenance are essential for safety.

The warehouse monitoring system is a crucial component of the automated three-dimensional warehouse control system. It is not only an essential foundation for the realization of warehouse management and monitoring functions but also significantly impacts the reliability and safety of automated warehouse operations. When it comes to the design of warehouse monitoring systems, most international applications are based on improved mature configuration software. Despite certain defects in the software, such as script crashes and overly complex programs, it has already been quite user-friendly in terms of human-machine interaction.

For automated warehouses, there are primarily two key requirements in the monitoring system: status monitoring and equipment debugging functions. Based on these needs, the warehouse monitoring system can achieve the following functionalities: full-process monitoring of equipment operation during the handling of goods; setting the working mode of stackers and controlling their various behavior states; controlling the display screen to reflect the real-time working status of stackers during system operation; receiving and managing computer reports on faults, job execution, and equipment status during operation; receiving equipment location and status information, and issuing operation commands to stackers.

In addition to the daily monitoring of equipment conditions, regular maintenance is also essential. As introduced by Ma Junyun to the reporter: Automated vertical warehouses have a long service life, and regular maintenance is highly necessary. Many automatedThree-dimensional Warehouse ShelvesThe increased load capacity may cause shelf deformation and ground settlement issues, and could also affect the protective structure to some extent. Therefore, regular surveys and measurements are necessary to ensure the overall safety of the warehouse. As the complexity of the system increases, the probability of faults in automated vertical warehouses also rises. It is essential to guide customers in conducting regular maintenance on equipment to keep it in good working condition, thereby reducing the safety issues caused by equipment failures.
