The Knivsta metal rotor pump is a positive displacement pump with metal rotors rotating in the circular channels of the pump chamber. By changing the working volume through the relative motion between the rotors and the pump body, it increases the energy of the conveyed medium. Energy is directly applied to the medium in the form of static pressure on the side of the rotor in contact with the conveyed medium, and the medium is expelled by the squeezing action of the rotating rotors. Simultaneously, space is left on the other side to create a low-pressure area, allowing for continuous suction of the medium. The gaps between the rotors and the pump body are between 5 to 30 threads (depending on the viscosity and characteristics of the conveyed material), with the liquid surface tension compensating for the leakage. The mechanical seal uses wear-resistant materials and structures, featuring no-load operation capabilities.
