A flange is a component that connects two shafts together, used for joining pipe ends; there are also flanges used at equipment inlets and outlets for connecting two pieces of equipment, such as a reducer flange. A flange connection or flange joint refers to a removable connection that consists of a flange, a gasket, and bolts, forming a combined sealing structure, also known as a flange disc or boss.

Flange Usage: Flanges are used in pairs. Low-pressure piping can use threaded flanges, while for pressures above 4 kg, welding flanges are required. Place a sealing washer between the two flange discs and then secure them with bolts. Flanges of different pressure ratings have varying thicknesses and require different bolts.
