In pipeline systems, elbows are fittings used to change the direction of the pipeline. They are available in three commonly used angles: 45°, 90°, and 180°. Additionally, elbows with other non-standard angles, such as 60°, are included based on engineering requirements. The methods of connecting pipes include direct welding (the most common method), flange connection, threaded connection, and socket connection, among others. Elbows can be categorized by production process into types such as welded elbows, stamped elbows, and cast elbows. They are commonly used pipeline fittings for connecting at pipe bends. Other names include 90-degree elbows, right-angle bends, and ell bends, etc. Their purpose is to connect two pipes with the same nominal diameter, allowing the pipeline to turn 90 degrees. 1.
