Three-way connectors, also known as pipe tees, tee pipes, and tee joints, among others, primarily function to alter the direction of fluids. They are commonly installed at branch points of main pipelines and can be categorized by the size of the pipe diameter. Common materials include carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and PVC.

Three-way fittings are used for pipe fittings and pipe connections. Also known as pipe fitting three-way or three-way pipe fitting, three-way接头, they are used where the main pipeline needs to branch off.

A three-way is a type of piping fitting with three outlets, consisting of one inlet and two outlets; or two inlets and one outlet. It comes in T and Y shapes, with both equal and unequal diameter outlets, and is used at junctions where three identical or different pipelines converge. The primary function of a three-way is to alter the direction of the fluid flow.

Three-way hot forming involves flattening a pipe blank larger than the three-way diameter to approximately the diameter of the three-way, and then creating a hole at the location for the extension of the branch pipe. The pipe blank is heated, placed into the forming mold, and a punch mold for the extension of the branch pipe is inserted inside.

Under pressure, the billet is radially compressed, during which the metal flows towards the branch pipe and forms the branch under the stretching action of the die. The entire process is shaped through the radial compression of the billet and the stretching of the branch section.
