Railway Coal Transportation Antifreeze (Solid) Overview: During the cold season or in cold regions, transporting water-containing bulk materials, such as coal and refined ore powder from mining operations, can freeze solid with the railcars, making it impossible to unload. Pre-unloading thawing rooms are required, which not only wastes a great deal of time but also consumes significant resources, reducing vehicle efficiency and increasing transportation costs, as well as delaying production. Our company has developed a rail coal transport anti-freezing agent in response to customer needs. This agent is non-flammable, non-explosive, high-quality, and cost-effective, suitable for large-scale promotion and use. By dissolving the anti-freezing agent in water at a certain ratio, it ensures that the railcars do not freeze with the water-containing bulk materials under open-air conditions for a long period, solving the freezing issue between the materials and the railcar bodies during the winter. This allows for smooth unloading without the need for thawing rooms, saving energy, shortening the railcar turnover cycle, reducing labor intensity, and lowering transportation costs. It is an economical anti-freezing measure for the transportation of coal, mineral powder, and other bulk materials. I. Working Principle Railroad Coal Transport Antifreeze (Solid) is widely used for preventing freezing in cold seasons and high-altitude regions during the transportation of bulk materials in railcars. This antifreeze is a large molecule compound formed by a multi-grade monomer and polar substances, with a low freezing point down to -50℃. The compound contains calcium chloride antifreeze powder, volatilization inhibitor, natural high polymer thickener, corrosion inhibitor, preservative, dust inhibitor, and other ingredients. When applied to the surface of the railcar, it can evenly disperse on the sides and bottom of the car. It combines with moisture-containing bulk materials (coal) inside the car, maintaining a low freezing point below -45℃. Using this antifreeze ensures that the railcars do not freeze with moisture-containing bulk materials when exposed to the open air, solving the freezing issue for materials like iron ore powder during winter. This allows for the seamless unloading without the need for thawing rooms, saving energy, shortening the railcar turnaround time, reducing labor intensity, and lowering transportation costs. II. Key Features Low freezing point: This product boasts excellent anti-freezing properties with a low freezing point as low as -50°C. Even when combined with moisture in the material, the combined substance's freezing point remains below -45°C, ensuring non-freezing contact surfaces in harsh environments. Low volatility: Due to the addition of volatility inhibitors, the product's specific gravity increases, resulting in low fluidity. After application, its effective antifreeze components remain intact for an extended period, and the antifreeze effect remains unchanged even if the water content is lost. Good viscosity: Contains natural high molecular materials that can swell into a colloidal solution in antifreeze. It has thickening, bonding, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming, suspending, adsorbing, and gelling properties, and can adhere evenly to train and car bodies without running. Corrosion Resistance: This product contains corrosion inhibitors and preservatives. After being sprayed with this product, metals will form a dense oxide film on their surface within a short period, ensuring long-term corrosion resistance when in contact with the vehicle's metal. It also protects the metal from being corroded by rain, snowmelt, and other elements. ◎Dust Suppression: This product boasts strong penetration, forming an elastic coating layer on dust surfaces to effectively prevent dust from being blown away and becoming airborne. It can create a thick covering layer; it can cross-link and form a film at very low temperatures, meeting the needs of use under conditions of large temperature differences and low temperatures. Low cost of use: Reduces the labor intensity of loaders and handlers, saves labor costs, and suppresses material loss. It solves the issue of secondary thawing after unloading due to insufficient thawing, and avoids the process of returning empty trucks with materials, as well as weighing, thereby reducing transportation costs and improving the utilization rate of truck bodies. Section 3: Technical Specifications Project Indicators Main Component Calcium Chloride Antifreeze Powder Auxiliary Ingredients: Thickeners, Volatile Inhibitors, Corrosion Inhibitors, Antioxidants Appearance: White Solid Storage Conditions: 2-8°C Viscosity 6.00-9.00 mPa.s (20℃) Boiling Point ≥ 100℃ IV. Usage Instructions 4.1 Raw Materials A Agent Raw Material: Thickenant and Antiseptic (a mixture of thickener, volatilization inhibitor, corrosion inhibitor, and antiseptic powder) B Raw Material: Calcium Chloride (Antifreeze Powder) 4.2 Rail coal transport antifreeze (solid) mixing ratio exceeds the TB/T3208-2008 standard. Ratio: A Material to B Material = 1:200 That is: 1kg of raw material A: accompanied by 200kg of raw material B 4.3 Production Process: Calculate the capacity of various components based on the actual production volume of the tank. First, add approximately half of the total water volume (measured according to the agitator tank level indicator or flow meter), then add B material to the water and start mixing: as B material dissolves completely under stirring and begins to release heat, gradually add A material and continue stirring until A material is fully dissolved. 4.4 If a large amount of foam is produced during stirring, continue to stir by adding 10ml of defoamer (shipped with the goods) to the antifreeze in the stir tank at a rate of 1m3 until the foam is mostly eliminated. 4.5 Before using the product or before storing it in a tank, it must be stirred thoroughly and the antifreeze density should be tested at an approximate temperature of 20℃. The antifreeze density, as measured by a hydrometer, should be within 1.275±0.005 g/cm³ to meet the standard for use or storage: If it does not reach this density, add materials or water according to the aforementioned proportions. 5. Usage Instructions 5.1 Freeze Preventive Agent (solid) for railway coal transport is to be dissolved in water in proportion. When the mass ratio is 2:8, the freezing point of the antifreeze is ≥-13°C. Due to the moisture content in coal, the freezing point typically increases by 5°C to 7°C. When applied to the wagons, it is suitable for environmental temperatures ≥-8°C. For solid powder antifreeze, dissolve it in water in a 3:7 ratio, resulting in a freezing point ≥-26°C. Considering the moisture content in coal, the freezing point usually rises by 5°C to 7°C. Suitable for environmental temperatures ≥-21°C. When mixed in a 5:9 ratio, the freezing point of the antifreeze is ≥-36°C. The freezing point increases by 5°C to 7°C due to coal moisture content. Suitable for environmental temperatures ≥-30°C.
