Boiler Overpressure Phenomenon

Overpressure Phenomenon:

(1) The pressure surged sharply, exceeding the authorized working pressure, and the pressure gauge needle crossed the "red line." After the safety valve activated, the pressure continued to rise.

(2) When the overpressure interlock protection device activates, an overpressure alarm signal should be emitted, and the supply of air, exhaust air, and coal should be halted.

Steam temperature increases while steam flow decreases.

Overpressure Treatment:

(1) Rapidly extinguish the fire by manually activating the safety valve or relief valve.

Increase water supply while enhancing sewage removal in the lower boiler drum (attention should be paid to maintaining the normal water level of the boiler), in order to reduce the water temperature in the boiler drum, thereby lowering the pressure in the boiler drum.

In case the safety valve fails or all pressure gauges are damaged, the boiler should be immediately shut down. Resume pressure operation only after both the safety valve and pressure gauges have been repaired.

When a boiler experiences overpressure and endangers safe operation, pressure-reducing measures should be taken, but it is strictly prohibited to reduce pressure too quickly.

After the severe overpressure of the boiler has been eliminated, the boiler must be shut down for internal and external inspections. Deformations, leaks caused by overpressure must be addressed, and safety accessories that do not meet standards must be repaired.
