During the operation of belt conveyors, a common issue is the short lifespan of the conveyors, which not only significantly impacts production costs but also hampers production efficiency. The lifespan of a conveyor belt is closely related to the quality of the belt, so it is crucial to carefully inspect the belt quality when purchasing a conveyor. If there are signs of excessive storage time, aging, or cracking, the belt should not be purchased.

Belt conveyors often encounter issues with belt misalignment during operation, particularly when the cargo loaded is uneven, causing the conveyor belt to tilt at an angle. Mild misalignment can lead to belt wear and spillage, impacting the lifespan of mining conveyors; severe cases can result in belt charring and softening, potentially causing fires, halting operations, and even leading to injuries or fatalities among staff, resulting in the entire production line being shut down.

There are many factors that can cause a belt to run off-center, primarily including the following aspects:

1) The axes of the active drum and the redirection drum are not parallel; there is an offset in the drum's center; missing or poorly rotating guide drums within the tunnel.

2) The tape joint does not align properly along the centerline during vulcanization.

3) After prolonged operation, the drum or roller surface of the belt conveyor accumulates a layer of dust, or the drum's surface rubber layer wears unevenly, causing the belt to be unevenly stressed on the drum surface.
